CPE has Partnered with the Southeast Tennessee Local Workforce Development Board to Offer Training

CPE has partnered with the Southeast Tennessee Local Workforce Development Board to offer training programs for individuals who have lost employment due to the coronavirus pandemic. Through CARES Act funding, participants can attend the COMPTIA IT Fundamentals course or the Workforce Excellence Program at no cost.


If you or someone you know has been affected, CARES Act funding can help. The CARES Act funds programs designed to reconnect individuals with the workforce. UTC's programs have a registration deadline of November 30 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Programs are available to anyone in Hamilton, Bradley, Polk, Rhea, McMinn, Meigs, Grundy, Marion, or Sequatchie counties Interested participants must register through the American Job Center in their respective county.


Programs Available


COMPTIA IT Fundamentals+

COMPTIA IT Fundamentals focuses on the essential skills and knowledge needed to perform tasks commonly performed by advanced end-users and entry-level IT professionals alike, including:

  • Using features and functions of common operating systems and establishing network connectivity

  • Identifying common software applications and their purpose

  • Using security and web browsing best practices


Workforce Excellence Program

Taking a job to a career requires the appropriate skillset. Through the Workforce Excellence Program, participants will learn effective communication and emotional intelligence. In addition, participants will hone their problem solving, critical thinking, and time management skills. The program also includes resume writing, mock interviews, and application submission to local employers.
